Daily Recap- Nov. 11

Who Was Hot

Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City PG)- Tallied 26 points to go along with eight assists and seven rebounds in a 103-94 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Westbrook hit 12 of 24 shots, and has scored 21 or more points in every game since his return from a hand injury. The Thunder have won four out of five games since Westbrook and Durant were both inserted back into the lineup, and look poised to challenge for a top four playoff seed in a jam-packed Western Conference.

The UCLA product has shot under 50% only two times in his last six games, which bodes well for Oklahoma City moving forward. If Westbrook can maintain a decent field goal percentage and limit his turnovers, the Thunder offense will flow easier and be uber-dangerous for the rest of the season.

Kevin Love (Cleveland PF/C)- Recorded a double-double of 18 points and 16 rebounds in a loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Love struggled shooting the ball (5-13 FG) with LeBron not playing, but still managed to grab his most rebounds since the Cavs second game of the season against the Bulls (Oct. 31). His scoring and rebounding numbers have gone down since he joined Cleveland, but Love is still averaging a very respectable 17.4 points and 10.3 rebounds per game this season.

Jason Thompson (Sacramento PF/C)- Scored 15 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in a 113-109 overtime loss to the Houston Rockets. Thompson did most of his damage from the foul line, hitting 9 of 11 free throws, and has seen his numbers go up during DeMarcus Cousins' absence.

James Harden (Houston SG)- Hit 14 of 32 shots, and scored 44 points in the Rockets' overtime win over the Sacramento Kings on Thursday night. While his field goal percentage left something to be desired, Harden played a solid overall game, dishing out eight assists and recording three steals. The 44 points were two shy of his career-high (46 vs. OKC in Feb. of 2013).

He will continue to lead the Rockets by himself while Dwight Howard (knee) remains out of commission. Harden is one of the top scorers in the game, and can put on a show any given night.

Plays of the Night

Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook threw down a vicious fast break dunk in a 103-94 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Westbrook is capable of throwing down a spectacular dunk at any given time, as he continues to be one of the most athletic players in the NBA.

James Harden has some of the best handles in the NBA at the 2-guard position, and he showed his Thursday night, crossing up Kings' shooting guard Ben McLemore. While he didn't end up taking the shot, Harden showed why he is one of the toughest players to guard in the league.
