Nightly Recap- Jan. 21

Top Performances

Andre Drummond (Detroit C)- Recorded 26 points and 17 rebounds in a 128-118 win over the Orlando Magic. Drummond was super-effecient Wednesday night, hitting 10 of 14 field goals, and surprisingly, 6 of his 8 foul shots. He also tallied four steals and blocked three shots as the Pistons continue to make a push for the playoffs.

John Wall (Washington PG)- Scored 18 points, 13 assists and six rebounds in a 105-103 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Wall didn't have the greatest shooting night (6-17 FG), but he did nab four steals and record his second consecutive double-double.

Nicolas Batum (Portland SF)- Posted a line of 27 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in a 118-113 loss to the Phoenix Suns. It was easily his best game of the season, as Batum hit 9 of his 15 field goal attempts (6-8 3PM). Hopefully, he can continue putting up numbers like this, as the Trail Blazers have lost four of their last five games, and are dealing with an injury to star LaMarcus Aldridge.

Brandon Jennings (Detroit PG)-Tallied 24 points and a season-high 21 assists in a 128-118 win over the Orlando Magic. Jennings was in total distribution mode Wednesday night, finding teammates early and often during the contest. Detroit is now only a game and a half away from the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference, and Jennings is a major reason why they have played so well over the last three weeks.

Eric Bledsoe (Phoenix PG/SG)- Finished with 33 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in Phoenix's win over the Trail Blazers. Bledsoe had a fantastic overall game, shooting 11 of 22 from the field, and recording three steals in the win. He continues to fill the stat sheet every night for the Suns, who have won eight of their last ten games.

Kevin Durant was at it again, this time posterizing Washington center Marcin Gortat in a 105-103 Thunder win over the Wizards.

Nightly Recap- Jan. 6

Top Performances

Markieff Morris (Phoenix PF/C)- Tallied 26 points and 10 rebounds in a 102-96 win over the Milwaukee Bucks. The other half of the Morris duo was on his game, Tuesday night, hitting 10 of 17 shot attempts in the win. It was the third time in his last four games that Morris has scored over 20 points.

Greg Monroe (Detroit PF)- Recorded 17 points and 11 rebounds in a 105-104 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday. It was the third straight double-double for Monroe, who has seen more playing time and a rise in production since Josh Smith was traded.

Andre Drummond (Detroit C)- Scored 20 points and pulled down 17 rebounds in the Pistons' win over the Spurs. Drummond posted his fifth double-double in his last seven games, and is putting up numbers on par to last year.

Brandon Knight (Milwaukee PG)- Dropped 26 points on 10 of 20 shooting from the field in a 102-96 loss to the Phoenix Suns. It was the third time in his last four games that Knight has scored 20 or more points, and he is maintaining his season stat line under head coach Jason Kidd.

Play of the Night

Detroit Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings banked in a floater with one tenth of a second left to beat the San Antonio Spurs 105-104. It was the Pistons' six win in a row, and Jennings finished the game with 13 points and seven assists.

Daily Recap- Dec. 30

Top Performances

Kobe Bryant (Los Angeles SG)- Recorded his second triple-double of the season, scoring 23 points, grabbing 11 rebounds and dishing out 11 assists in a 111-103 win over the Denver Nuggets. While his nine turnovers were too high, Bryant's efficiency and distributing was instrumental in the Lakers' win. He's averaging 16.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.3 assists  over his last four games.

Jodie Meeks (Detroit SG)- Hit nine 3-pointers and scored a season-high 34 points in a 109-86 win over the Orlando Magic. Meeks caught fire last night, hitting six 3's and scoring 20 points alone in the second quarter. He has scored in double-digits in Detroit's last four games, with three of them resulting in wins.

Andre Drummond (Detroit C)- Grabbed 22 rebounds and chipped in 17 points in the Pistons' win over the Magic. Drummond has been a dominant force down low since the departure of Josh Smith, and looks primed to repeat last seasons' performance.

Mike Conley (Memphis PG)- Scored 30 points on 10-13 shooting in a 95-87 win over the San Antonio Spurs. Conley did everything for the Grizzlies on Tuesday, as he tallied seven rebounds, six assists and four made 3-pointers. The Ohio State product has scored over 20 points in four of his last six games, and has hit 14 3-pointers in the last four contests.

Daily Recap- Dec. 28

Top Performances

Kyle Lowry (Toronto PG)- Recorded 30 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds in a 116-102 win over the Denver Nuggets. Lowry had another tremendous game, and has scored over 30 points in two of his last three games. His combination of scoring, assisting and rebounding is a rare sight among even the best point guards in the league, and the Raptors are first in the Eastern Conference as a result of his play.

Dirk Nowitzki (Dallas PF)- Scored 30 points on 8 of 13 shooting  in a 112-107 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Nowitzki tied his season high with 30 points, and hit all 12 of his foul shots. The German sharpshooter, as well as the rest of the Mavs seem to be meshing with point guard Rajon Rondo, as Dallas has won three out of five games since his arrival.

Wesley Matthews (Portland SG)- Hit six 3-pointers en-route to a 28-point performance in a 101-79 win against the New York Knicks. Matthews hit five of his six 3-pointers in the first half, as Portland built a 55-41 lead at the break. He has been strong over the past week, as he has scored over 20 points in his last three games.

Andre Drummond (Detroit C)- Grabbed 17 rebounds to go along with 16 points in a 103-80 win versus the Cleveland Cavaliers. Drummond had a fantastic overall game, blocking five shots for the first time since Dec. 3 against Boston. After struggling to score early on in the season, he has scored in double-digits in 9 of his last 10 contests.

Play of the Night

The Detroit Pistons caught fire from 3-point range in their 103-80 win in Cleveland on Sunday. Detroit hit 17 of their 31 attempts from beyond the arc, with six Pistons hitting from deep. Point guard Brandon Jennings led the way, hitting 5 of 9 three point attempts in the win.

Daily Recap- Dec. 17

Top Performances

Andre Drummond (Detroit C)- Grabbed 24 rebounds, and added 19 points in a 117-106 loss to the Dallas Mavericks. Drummond was an absolute force on the boards, out-rebounding Tyson Chandler 24-9. His 19 points marked the sixth straight game that the young center has scored in double-digits, and is a positive sign for the struggling Pistons.

Chandler Parsons (Dallas SF)- Dropped 32 points on 10-17 shooting in a win over the Detroit Pistons. Parsons grabbed seven rebounds and scored over 30 points for the second time in four games. He looks to be more comfortable in head coach Rick Carlisle's system, which means he will take more pressure off of Dirk Nowitzki and Monta Ellis on the offensive end. Parsons' quiet athleticism and speed allow him to guard multiple positions on the defensive end, and allows him to score in many ways on offense.

Gordon Hayward (Utah SG/SF)- Posted a stat line of 29 points, seven assists and six rebounds in a 105-87 win over the Miami Heat. Hayward and the Jazz dominated Miami from start to finish Wednesday, and appear to be much improved from last season. The Butler product is having a sold season so far, averaging almost 19 points and six rebounds per game for Utah.

Danny Green (San Antonio SG)- Scored 27 points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked five shots in a 117-116 triple-overtime loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. Green's production can be hit or miss, but when he's hitting his 3-pointers and grabbing rebounds, he makes a great impact on the Spurs.

Dwayne Wade (Miami SG)- Tallied 42 points in a 105-87 loss to the Utah Jazz. Wade scored almost half of Miami's points, and was his highest point total since 2010. The 32-year-old is going to have to continue to carry the scoring load with Josh McRoberts (Out for the year) and Chris Bosh dealing with big injuries.

Zach Randolph (Memphis PF)- Recorded a double-double of 21 points and 21 rebounds in Memphis' win over the Spurs on Wednesday night. Randolph played 48 minutes one night after a win against the Warriors, but showed no effects of fatigue in the win. He continues to be one of the more consistent double-double threats in the league.

Game of the Night

The Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs battled in a grind-it-out contest featuring two top tier Western Conference teams. Grizzlies' center Marc Gasol banked in a 3-pointer off of one foot to send the game into overtime, which was followed up by Tim Duncan's fadeaway that forced the game into the third and final overtime. Memphis would finally prevail 117-116 in what was surely one of the best games of year.

Daily Recap- Dec. 3

Who Was Hot

Mirza Teletovic (Brooklyn PF)- Scored 26 points and pulled down 15 rebounds in a 95-93 overtime win against the San Antonio Spurs. Teletovic got h the start and didn't disappoint, showing his accuracy from 3-point range (Five 3's) in the win.

Danny Green (San Antonio SG)- Posted a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds in the Spurs' overtime win against the Nets. Green has been on a tear, especially on the defensive end, as he has

Andre Drummond (Detroit C)- Had a monster game of 27 points and 14 rebounds in a 109-102 loss to the Boston Celtics. Drummond also recorded four steals and five blocks, and continues to be one of the top big men in the game.

Kyle Lowry (Toronto PG)- Tallied a career-high 39 points on 13-22 shooting in a 123-104 win over the Utah Jazz. Lowry is having another stellar year, and is quietly one of the best point guards in the NBA. He is averaging 20.6 ppg, 6.8 apg and 4.9 rpg this season.

Who Was Not

Jeremy Lin (Los Angeles PG)- Failed to hit any of his 10 shot attempts in a 11-95 loss to the Washington Wizards. Lin not only failed to score, but also committed four turnovers in his worst game of the season.

Brandon Jennings (Detroit PG)- Shot 0 for 11 from the field, scoring only one point in Detroit's loss to the Celtics on Wednesday night. Jennings was able to contribute in order categories though, dishing out 12 assists in the loss.

Play of the Night

Kemba Walker showcased his killer crossover once again, dropping Bulls forward Nikola Mirotic and then hitting the 3-pointer on Wednesday night. Walker finished with 23 points, five rebounds and four assists in a 102-95 loss to Chicago.

Who Was Hot

Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City PG)- Scored 32 points, dished out eight assists and grabbed seven rebounds in a 105-78 win over the New York Knicks. In his first game since breaking his right hand, Westbrook dominated the Knicks, hitting 12 of 17 shots, including three 3-pointers.

Andre Drummond (Detroit C)- Tallied a season-high 26 points and 20 rebounds in a 104-88 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. Drummond has put up five double-doubles in his last six games, and is a lone bright spot in an otherwise struggling Pistons' team.

Joakim Noah (Chicago C)- Stuffed the stat sheet Friday with 15 points, 14 rebounds, six assists and six blocks in a 109-102 win over the Boston Celtics. Noah continues to be one of the best passing big men in the game, and is an invaluable member of the Bulls' team.

Mike Conley (Memphis PG)- Was one assist shy of a triple-double Friday, finishing with 21 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists in a 112-99 win over the Portland Trail Blazers. Conley's run as one of the league's most underrated point guards continues, as he has helped Memphis post a 14-2 record, which is good for tops in the NBA.

Jeremy Lin (Los Angeles PG)- Posted a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds in a 120-119 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Lin shot 8 of 15 from the field, and recored four steals in the tough loss.

Mo Williams (Minnesota PG)- Torched the Lakers to the tune of 25 points and 11 assists in a 120-119 win on Friday night. Williams hit 8 of 13 shots from the field, including six 3-pointers, in what was his second straight double-double for the T-Wolves.

Who Was Not

Austin Rivers (New Orleans PG/SG)- Failed to hit a shot, going 0-8 from the field in 100-91 loss to the Atlanta Hawks. It was Rivers' first start of the season, and a forgetful one to say the least.

DeMar DeRozan (Toronto SG/SF)- Missed all eight shots he took on Friday in a 106-102 loss to the Dallas Mavericks. DeRozan also injured his groin in the third quarter, and did not return to the game.

Play of the Night

Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook made a stellar return to the lineup Friday, and threw down a statement dunk in the first quarter against the New York Knicks.

Who Was Hot

Stephen Curry (Golden State PG)- Curry was absolutely on fire Tuesday night, scoring a season-high 40 points (12-19 FG) in a 114-97 win over the Miami Heat. The Golden State point guard was unstoppable, as he hit eight 3-pointers, dished out seven assists and grabbed six rebounds in the contest. Curry continues to show why he is one of the best point guards in the game, and is still improving daily.

DeMarcus Cousins (Sacramento PF/C)- Tallied 22 points and 12 rebounds in a 99-89 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. Cousins posted his eighth double-double in a row, and is one of the top big men in the game.

Andre Drummond (Detroit C-)- Hit 11 0f 15 shots en route to a 23 pt, 15 reb performance in a 98-86 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night. Although his scoring has been down (9.7 ppg), Drummond continues to put up solid rebounding and blocking numbers (11.5, 1.6 respectively).

Ty Lawson (Denver PG)- Scored 20 points and had 12 assists in a 114-109 win over the Chicago Bulls. Lawson has been exceptional passing the ball as of late, dishing out 12 or more assists in four of his last five games, and is showing no signs of slowing down.


Who Was Not

Bradley Beal (Washington SG)- Scored 13 points on 4-14 shooting in a 106-102 loss to the Atlanta Hawks. Beal had his worst shooting game of his young season (only 4 games played), but did manage to pull down six rebounds and should be more efficient going forward.

Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee SG/SF)- Shot only 1 of 13 from the field, and scored two points in the Bukcs' win over the Pistons. It was only the second time in his last nine games that Antetokounmpo failed to score in double digits, as the "Greek Freak" is becoming very comfortable in head coach Jason Kidd's system.

Denver point guard Ty Lawson froze Chicago Bulls' guard Kirk Hinrich Tuesday night, and then found center Timofey Mozgov for the assist.
